This was really done quite well. I loved the hockey hook--so unusual, and it showed the character to be a strong woman and more interesting than some romance heroines. Well done. All the characters are quite well developed, actually. The family set-up was very successful, and so was the claustrophobic small town. I especially enjoyed the grandfather.
That said, I wish Ms. Stone would find a better editor, or read up on proper punctuation. Commas and apostrophes are misused all throughout the book. Weirdly, the book isn't poorly edited in other ways. But the punctuation is a disaster.
